Greetings Sports Fans!
What a great week to be a Wilson Trojan! The school had so many events and accomplishments to be proud of and now with the weather looking like it is going to cooperate for the foreseeable future, we are looking forward to our programs making that push into league play. Great time to be a Wilson Trojan! We March On!
The Wilson Auction was a great event on Saturday night. A huge thanks goes out to the Auction Committee and all the volunteers that played a role in making the night fantastic! The paddle raise set a new record raising over $50K for the Wilson Foundation to help pay for some of the great programs that Wilson has to offer our community.
The Wilsingers placed third in the PIL and will be heading off to state and the Orchestra finished first in the PIL and will be heading off to state as well! Great accomplishments for the school! On to State!

Here's a major shout-out to the combined Wilson Central Catholic ski team for an awesome ski season! Coaches Matt "Old School" Stember and Willy Scroggins (both Wilson alums) coached 9 Wilson and 4 Central Catholic ski racers to multiple league and state awards. Competing against teams with 40 or more skiers, the Wilson Central Catholic team of only 13 skiers scored HUGE at the state championships! Wilson racers Matt Hickey, Carmen Donnerberg and Ursa Freeman joined Central Catholic racers Tucker Scroggins, Dylan Dernbach, Jackson Currier and Octavia Wilcoxon at the state championships at Mt. Bachelor taking 1st place (individual) and 2d place (team) in both Slalom and Giant Slalom events!!! And, kudos to Wilson freshman Ronnie Murphy whose super attitude all season was recognized out of 200 skiers for the League's Sportsmanship Award!

The Track and Field Program had a great week. We hosted the PIL JV Classic at Wilson High School on Wednesday Night. Great weather for the event and our student-athletes performed well with many of our athletes either winning or setting PR’s in their events. On Saturday, the team traveled to the 54th Centennial Invitational where the Women finished 10th and the Men finished 11th. Our next meet will be at Madison on Tuesday. For more track info and meet results, you can visit https://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/School.aspx?SchoolID=214
The Softball Program is deep into league play and grinding it out after all the rain delays. They had to play four games this past week going 1-3 in league play. Softball in the PIL is getting stronger and stronger year after year and with Coach Walmer’s young squad, they are trying to get hot for the final push of the regular season. The JV Softball Program is doing well with some dominating performances against league opponents.
Our Baseball Program is in the heart of league play as well. The Varsity had a productive week going 4-0 in league play and are sitting in a great spot as they head into some key match-ups with Grant and Lincoln coming up in their schedules. Both the JV and Freshmen Teams are doing well in their league play as well.
A huge shout out to Coach K and the Women’s Golf Program as they continue to March On in their league play. They have taken down perennial powerhouse Lincoln twice so far this season and positioning themselves for a great run at a PIL City Title. Our new Men’s Golf Coach, Rick Widman, is doing a great job in his first year as head coach of the program as well! We March On!
Can’t say enough about Coach Daigle and Sussman and what they are doing for the Tennis Programs. Both of them are creating a positive, fun, and competitive Tennis Programs with extremely bright futures with a lot of really talented young players. Both programs have some big matches coming up this week. Come out and support the Tennis Programs by cheering them on at their next home contest!
Both the Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse Programs are gearing up for a final push in their regular seasons with hopes of making it to the post season. I am learning more and more about the sport this year than ever before and it is a fun and exciting game to watch. I highly recommend coming out and supporting our Wilson Lacrosse players at their next home game.
Mark your calendar now for Tuesday May 29th at 7pm for our Wilson High School Athletics Year End Celebration. We will host it in the auditorium. Going to be a night to celebrate our student-athletes and coaches for all of their work this year.
